Donna C. Ratcliffe, Ed.D.

Director, Career and Professional Development, Virginia Tech

Dr. Donna Cassell Ratcliffe has a rich history of significant contributions to the profession. She is a former president of VACE and EACE and the recipient of each organization’s distinguished service award. Active in NACE, Donna served on the committee that developed NACE’s career readiness competencies and co-chaired the committee to develop implementation strategies and resources. She has a passion for career ready competencies and has made numerous presentations on the topic.

Associate Dean of Career Development and Engagement, University of Tampa

Tim Harding, M.S., has served as the Associate Dean of Career Development and Engagement at the University of Tampa since 2005. Previously, he was the Career Services Director at Butler University. Harding is currently on the Board of Directors for NACE. He has served on several NACE committees including the 21st Century Model Career Center Team and the Member Engagement Committee. Harding served as the president of SoACE and the Career Development Professionals of Indiana.

David Gaston, M.A.

AVP for Undergraduate Studies, University of Kansas

David Gaston, M.A., has more than twenty years’ experience in collegiate career services; he spent most of that time leading a nationally recognized career services department at the University of Kansas. While at KU, David led the creation and development of new career-focused, credit-bearing, courses taught by career center staff, which tripled student enrollment. In addition, he has served in leadership roles in state, regional, national, and international career services professionals associations.

2017 Competency Symposium Highlight Reel

Career Readiness Roundtables

CareerSpots is at the forefront of the national competency movement. Recently, we attended the Career Readiness Roundtable at New York University in New York, NY. The same Roundtable was hosted by University of Detroit Mercy in Detroit, MI. Last year, CareerSpots attended NACE’s FIRST Career Readiness Roundtable at Penn State University in University Park, PA.

Competency Symposiums

CareerSpots is excited to attend this year’s 2018 Competency Symposium at Washington University in St. Louis, MO. CareerSpots was thrilled to attend Clemson’s 2017 Competency Symposium that focused on Career Readiness to ensure students have the toolkit needed to succeed in life after college. Attendees discussed initiating and integrating competency plans into campus-wide Career Readiness programming.
